FINAL CUT APPOINTS
NEW ORGANISER

Final Cut has appointed local filmmaker, Jim Lee, to take over the role of Organiser while Richard Harris concentrates on a major new project for the Brighton-based short film group. Jim has been active in the local film scene for several years and recently premiered his latest short film, A Kick in the Proverbials, at Brighton’s new Lighthouse screening lounge. He has also recently started pre-production of his first feature project. In addition to being a filmmaker, Jim is an accomplished musician who has played his favourite instrument, the mandolin, in several local bands. His first Final Cut screening as Organiser took place on December 11th and, not surprisingly, the evening included a live music set from Brighton’s premiere lounge lizards, Mr Limbic. Final Cut continues its residency at the Brighton Komedia during 2008, with screening nights on the third Sunday of every month, commencing January 20th.
Visit www.finalcut.gb.com for programme details.

FINAL CUT IS SUPPORTED BY THE UK FILM COUNCIL, SCREEN SOUTH, BRIGHTON & HOVE CITY COUNCIL, KOMEDIA BRIGHTON, FACILITATE AND ABSOLUTEBRIGHTON.TV

Verity Lambert
Remembered

The Board of Screen South remember with affection and respect the contribution of Verity Lambert to the Board's work. Verity who died on 22nd November, had only been involved with the agency for a short time but had already contributed much.

Screen South chairman, Graham Benson said today 'Verity was my very close friend and professional colleague for 35 years. We worked together several times and saw each other regularly, most recently a month ago when, though still her stylish and cheerful self, her illness had by then become more serious. Verity had impeccable taste and was wise, good humoured and determined, she added something extra to everything she was involved with and will be very sadly missed.'
