BRIT FILM ‘SICK’ WINS BEST DRAMA AWARD AT
THE INDIE SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Acclaimed short film 'SICK', by debut Director MIKE RYMER and Producer CHRISTINE HARTLAND, was recently awarded the Best Drama prize by Florida's The Indie Short Film Competition. The film received Screen South support towards distribution and festival promotion.

The competition's focus is on 'creating opportunities for aspiring filmmakers from around the world by bringing support and recognition to excellence in the art of filmmaking'. The top prize was taken for the UK last year by Simon Ellis' Soft, and this year the Brits were back. 'SICK' adds this accolade to a haul of 18 wins and 6 nominations across 23 countries in the past year on the festival circuit.

Further to the film's latest success, the team were celebrating their 50th festival selection at 15th Bradford International Film Festival which runs from 13th - 28th March 2009. The film will screen before US Documentary Carny on 19th March at 2pm in Bradford's National Media Museum.
