Debut British Director MIKE RYMER has won the Golden Knight at The 47th Golden Knight Malta International Film Festival. The accolade, awarded for his 15 minute short film SICK, was announced at the festival's closing ceremony on Saturday 29th November.

At the festival, Jenny Wong of the British High Commission in Malta, accepted the award on Mike's behalf. SICK has now received 8 international awards and 6 nominations from 36 festival selections across 17 countries and 6 US states.

Vincent Lungaro-Mifsud (Festival Chairman) said:
“The judging panel had no doubt when awarding 'SICK' the Golden Knight in Class C (open for commercial short productions) at the 47th edition of the Golden Knight Malta International Film Festival. A fitting winner in this the top class of the festival.”

Jennifer Wong (British High Commission Malta) said:
“The British High Commission Malta is delighted to accept the Golden Knight Award on behalf of Mike Rymer for his film "SICK". This brings well deserved international recognition to efforts which highlight a serious issue affecting many.
