BFI London Lesbian & Gay Film FestivalBFI London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival
March 17, 2010 - March 31, 2010
Now in its 24th year, the Festival will screen 75 feature length contemporary and archive films and documentaries plus hundreds of shorts. An impressive number of these films have won awards at other international festivals. Also throughout the Festival there will be club nights, events, networking opportunities, retrospectives, workshops and a special film fun programme for kids, their friends and families.

The Opening Night Gala will be the world premiere of a new British film (commisioned by the BBC), The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister, which screens at the Odeon West End. The Festival closes with a striking examination of identity and gay politics in the Bahamas from first-time filmmaker Kareem J Mortimer Children of God.

The LLGFF is the largest lesbian and gay film festival in Europe. With over 28,000 admissions last year, the Festival celebrates the best in queer cinema with films from 29 countries that explore and reflect the diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture from around the globe. In addition to the wealth of UK talent on show, there are outstanding contributions this year from Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Argentina, Israel, Brazil, New Zealand and the USA.

Highlights of this year's Festival will tour venues across the UK from May through to October 2010. Last year's touring programme played at 24 venues, festivals and community events, attracting an audience 20% higher than in 2008.
