South East Media Education Partnerships
South East Media Education Partnership

Screen South has set up four networks that form the South East Media Education Partnership. Members include HE, FE, schools, academies, community filmmakers, community organisations, youth groups, literacy managers from Local Authorities, Learning Skills Council, Creative Partnerships, film festivals and regional archives.

The SEMEP is there to implement the Film Education Strategy, create and publicise opportunities for projects and support members in their bids, stimulate collaboration and partnership work around film and encourage members to support Screen South's priorities and activities.

The meetings are an informal way for people to meet, share ideas, showcase their work or the work of their students and find out about new initiatives and opportunities. Screen South regularly invites key speakers at meetings from industry and from national organisations such as Film Education and Film Club.

The SEMEP members will have an opportunity to bid to be part of a Film Education Pilot in 2009 as part of the Film Education Strategy (www.21stcenturyfilm.org) . More details to follow.

The SEMEP has networks in:

• Kent and Medway
• Hampshire, Solent, Isle of Wight
• Berkshire, Oxford, Buckinghamshire
• Sussex and Surrey
